My brother and I on Giant Mountain

Im Chris Nyman, I have always been an avid outdoorsman and over the past few years Ive developed a passion for hiking.  I decided I wanted to become an Adirondack 46er with my girlfriend Sarah and one of my best friends from High School Andrew Lamastra. The 46ers climb all peaks over 4000 feet tall in the Adirondacks although a few were later found out to be just under this mark they must still be done in order to be recognized as a 46er.  I had done a few climbs prior to this year but have now been more committed to my goal of summiting all 46. Originally I thought that I would be satisfied just completing the ADK 46, but over the past few years my passion for these mountains has grown.  I have now set my sights on completing the Northeast 111, consisting of the 4000 ft peaks in the Adirondacks, Green Mountains, White Mountains, Maine, and 2 in the Catskills.  I dont know if Ill ever achieve this but I will try and you will be able to see them here.  My posts might not have precise directions, maps, or a billion pictures, but they will have my personality and you will see from these stories how much fun I have.  You will also see things that I would not advise you try (such as hiking in torrential rain and hurricane force winds).  Either way I hope you find it interesting and I hope you get out and try it yourself as there are so many hikes suited for everyone.  For those who want to give these a try I have rated my climbs on how difficult I felt they were on a scale of 1-10 ten being the toughest, and views from 1-10 ten being the best. Its been a fun ride so far and I look forward to completing them all.

  1. My dad and I read a couple of your posts last night, you’re hilarious! Also, I love the idea of rating each mountain for views and difficulty. Good luck on your remaining ones 🙂
